Brushing hair or teeth is quite normal. But, the idea of brushing your skin might raise your eyebrow. Many people are not even aware of the term ‘dry brushing’. Many spas are taking it as the therapy these days. In this article, let’s see the detailed information about the dry brushing.

Advantages of Dry Brushing

This 5 minutes trick every day will give myriads of health benefits. Let’s see the different advantages of dry brushing.

Skin Exfoliation

When a firm and natural bristled brush runs over our skin, the removal of the dead cell takes place.

Cellulite Reduction

Many people have claimed that regular dry brushing has helped in the reduction of cellulite. It does not have that much strong evidence in cellulite reduction. However, it makes our skin softer.

Lymphatic System Stimulation

The lymphatic system is made up of different organs, lymph nodes, ducts, and vessels and it is the main part of the immunity system. It sends lymph throughout the body. When we dry brush, it stimulates the normal lymph flow within the body. So, the detoxification of the body takes place naturally.

Pores Cleaning

At the time of exfoliation, dirt, dust, oil etc. get removed from the pores. But, always use a softer and smaller brush for the face and you will see visible changes within no time.

Energy Boosting

Since dry brushing increases the blood circulation, it boosts the energy level instantly. That’s why one should do it in the morning, not at night.

Selection of Dry Brush

Before starting with the dry brush routine, you need to understand the shape and size of the brush. Firm bristled brush with the long handle is the most desirable one for the whole body. Whereas, for the face, tender bristle with the smaller handle would be preferable.

Proper Guide to Dry Brush

Dry brushing your skin can be included in your daily routine in the morning, preferably before taking shower. Initially, start with the gentle pressure and then go on making it firmer.

1. Start brushing your bottom of the feet at first and then proceed upward.
2. From the leg, start going towards the center of the body.
3. To stimulate the lymph flow, always brush towards the chest/heart area.
4. At the stomach and armpit section, brush in a circular and clockwise motion.
5. Give a firm press on the back and other portion of the body.
6. Brush your face softly with a delicate brush.
7. Dry brush each section of the body part at least 10 times for better result.

Caution

Never press hard any part of the body. Your skin may turn little pinkish after dry brushing but will never go red or sting. If you feel uneasy at any part of the body, stop pressing hard.
